I am a Systems Engineer with experience in leveraging a variety of technologies to find the easiest and most efficient and effective way to meet the needs of the project's requirements. I like to build software and systems to help ease mundane and complex tasks.

Before getting started with Docker’s documentation, read the whole article. Follow the steps that are under “Install using the apt repository”

In step one, when you get to the following code sample:

echo \ "deb [arch=$(dpkg --print-architecture) signed-by=/etc/apt/keyrings/docker.asc] https://download.docker.com/linux/debian \ $(. /etc/os-release && echo "$VERSION_CODENAME") stable" | \ sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/docker.list > /dev/null

Double check the test fixture is running on arm64 linux debian. To find out which architecture and linux distribution the test fixture is running on, run the following commands in the terminal.

For architecture:

dpkg --print-architecture

For Linux distribution

lsb_release -a

If the architecture and/or OS is different, look up the right way to pass that in to the echo command above.

If the outputs of the above commands are arm64 linux debian. Use this command:

echo "deb [arch=arm64 signed-by=/etc/apt/keyrings/docker.asc] https://download.docker.com/linux/debian bookworm stable" | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/docker.list > /dev/null

Continue to steps 2 and 3 in the docker’s documentation…
